Kinnick is forced back into a world he walked away from, teaming up with an old newsroom flame and a retired detective for a chaotic, cross-state rescue mission through the Pacific Northwest.
Reviewers have called the novel a witty, propulsive caper that doubles as a serious look at family and political division in modern America — sharp enough to read in a couple of sittings, but with real emotional stakes underneath the humor.
